The future - the options

Option 1 (the best) : We do what they did in the Malvasur group (in the Malvarrosa area, past Corinto beach) – sell the well and the entire pipeline network and secure a reliable drinking water supply from Aigües de Sagunt. In this case, we could negotiate significant discounts to smooth the costs during the transition to Aigües de Sagunt.

Option 2 (the worst) : One day, in the not-too-distant future, the Sagunto City Council will decide to install new pipes from Aigües de Sagunt and will legally have the right to charge us for all the costs—it could be between 2,000 and 3,000 euros per house. This way, the City Council avoids most of the installation expenses. A disaster for us, especially for retirees with very limited pensions. Beware—the moment Sagunto does this, Aguas de Almardà will go bankrupt because Aigües de Sagunt will control most of the water consumption in Almardà, and the few houses that would like to continue using Aguas de Almardà for garden irrigation won't have enough to financially maintain the well.

Option 3 (very bad) : continue as we are, but much worse – more water cuts, more crisis, more suffering. In this case, the crisis could be so severe that it bankrupts the Association or causes a very serious failure (it almost happened this summer), and the Sagunto City Council would be forced to take responsibility and wouldn't have to pay a penny to anyone... The Valencian Health Department will finally not tolerate the supply of non-potable water in one of its communities – its days are numbered. The problem is that this scenario would be out of our control.
