We want to sell the well to the Sagunto City Council, and once that's done, Aigües de Sagunt will supply us with drinking water. With Aigües de Sagunt taking over, we'll benefit from their excellent, reliable facilities—because they can't afford to fail. A hospital, clinics, huge factories, and numerous schools depend on this company. We've had a meeting with the city council, and they confirmed that by purchasing the well and assuming responsibility for the pipe network, they would be obligated to replace most of the old pipes, and their plan is to complete this within four years. The remaining pipes would be replaced over the following four years. These upgrades require significant funding, which only a large company like Aigües de Sagunt can provide. The company's management understands this clearly: sending teams of engineers to continuously repair old pipes in Almardà isn't economically viable. In the long run, it's cheaper to tear up the street and lay new pipes, thus eliminating endless repairs. This practice is impossible for Aguas de Almardà – the costs would be immense and beyond the budget of this small association. It's important to remember that several streets in Almardà (for example, Avenida de la Marjal and Avenida de Italia) already have pipes belonging to Aigües de Sagunt, and it would be relatively easy to connect the residents of these streets to these existing pipes. The residents of Almardà are well aware that certain streets are notorious for frequent leaks (for example, Calle Burjassot, Calle Alemania, etc.), and these streets, vulnerable to bursts, would undoubtedly be the first to be renovated with new pipes. One of the major problems in Almardà is that repairing a leak often requires shutting off the water supply to several industrial parks simultaneously. A few days ago, a pipe repair on Alemania Street required cutting off the water supply to industrial parks C and D. To resolve this, Aigües de Sagunt will carry out rapid upgrades to the network so that only the affected street needs to be closed for repairs, eliminating the need to shut off water to entire industrial parks. In short, the frequency of water outages will be reduced to less than 5% of what we experience today. We will be able to live peacefully and without disruption, just like our neighbors already connected to Aigües de Sagunt.
